Arab-Irish: Irish firm bidding to construct solar project in Jordan

Renewable energy company is confident of winning contract to help build $100m project, writes Caroline Allen.

Dublin company Mainstream Renewable Power is tendering for a contract to build and operate a large-scale 50 megawatt solar project in Jordan.

The company, which employs 180 people, has previously explored opportunities in Turkey and Egypt, but is now firmly focused on winning business in Jordan, according to chief executive Eddie O'Connor.
